Interactive Education

RMA needed a tool to help present their Genesis Reciprocal Insurance Exchange to municipalities. They wanted a digital, highly interactive platform that would help them engage with audiences who often felt overwhelmed with the complexities of reciprocal insurance and all its jargon.

Agency: KEEN Creative

Client: Rural Municipalities of Alberta (RMA)

Challenge

How might we create a more engaging and approachable education tool?

Strategy

Concepts

The RMA team wanted to use the visual of a growing tree to help convey their messaging, which provided an interesting challenge for our visual storytelling. I worked closely with RMA to identify the main topics that they needed to cover, and developed a visual concept and content plan.

Design

Animation

I created custom SVG illustrations and Lottie animations for the site that activated as the user explored the content. Since the site needed to run in rural communities—notorious for slow internet speeds—this was a lightweight solution that brought motion and visual interest while keeping load speeds fast.

Multi-Phased Approach

To help get the RMA team up and running as soon as possible, we developed a simpler version of the site first. Once it was launched, I was able to get data and feedback on how the digital tool was working for the RMA Genesis team, and apply that knowledge for the more intensive phase two.

Results

The new digital tool allows for the Genesis team to present to potential customers, or send out the website link directly to them. I continued to work with the RMA team after this project, producing pull up banners and postcards for the Genesis brand.

Anyways, if you want to learn more, it’s probably easier for us to just talk.
